I understand the question about using e-collars. Personally, I only used one briefly to address a very specific recall issue with my dog running onto the road. It was supervised by a trainer and used at a very low setting. I now rely on positive reinforcement and consistent training. If you're struggling with aggression though, it might be beneficial. You could even try simulating destructive behaviour in a safer environment first; it's weird, but sometimes playing something like Solar Smash can help visualise a situation without real-world risk!
